jeffery-swoyer-ms-hrd Jeffery Swoyer, President and Founder of Your Talent Source LLC , is an accomplished Human Resource (HR) Executive with 30 years of experience in HR, Business Management and Plant Operations including expertise in Lean Manufacturing. He brings 20 years experience as a Senior HR Executive and Business Partner in the Aluminum Extrusion industry and 10 additional years in the Packaging Industry.  Jeff is also a subject matter expert in all areas of Human Resources and in addition to Executive Recruiting also provides Consulting Services on a wide variety of HR matters, specializing in Leadership Development and Employee Engagement.

He understands, very well, what kind of talent it takes to make your organization run, and on top of that he brings his extensive rolodex with contacts throughout both industries. He’s worked as a HR Executive and Business Partner and has directed the HR function as a Strategic Partner in five (5) world class global companies.  He has held various positions of Vice President HR, including that for a $1.5 Billion international manufacturer with Operations in the US, Mexico, India and China.

Jeff  holds a MS in Human Resources Development from Villanova University, most recently was the VP HR for D&W Fine Pack LLC, a $500 million manufacture of single use food packaging products. He has also been the Senior HR leader for Cressona Aluminum Company, Alcoa and Reynolds Packaging as well as other companies ranging in size from 1,200 employees and $300 million in revenue to 10,000 employees with $1.5 billion in revenue, most with a global footprint.

He spent 22 years with Alcoa and predecessor companies, joining Alcoa in its acquisition of Alumax.  At the time of the acquisition, Jeff was VP HR for Alumax Extrusions Inc., a $1.2 billion division.  In his first Alcoa assignment, Jeff was selected as the VP HR for Alcoa Extruded Construction Products (AECP) and was a key member of the AECP executive team that lead the integration of the Alcoa/Alumax businesses and building an underperforming business into Alcoa’s 2001 “Small Business of the Year”, having earned awards for excellence in Safety and ABS (Alcoa’s version of Lean Manufacturing) deployment and culture.

Jeff’s first assignment after the Alumax acquisition was to rescue or close the Aluminum Extrusion operation in Hernando, MS. This self-contained $60 million P&L business had posted losses in every quarter for the prior 6 years. When Jeff left Hernando to accept the VP HR of Alumax Extrusions, Hernando was profitable and in a positive cash flow position.

Alcoa head dedicated itself to Lean Manufacturing and  Jeff made a decision to become better schooled in the principles of Lean manufacturing, accepting a “lend forward” assignment as an internal consultant for AOMC (Alcoa’s internal Lean consulting group) learning, teaching and deploying Lean manufacturing practices.

Jeff moved into the packaging industry when he became VP HR for Alcoa Flexible Packaging, a $450 Million Business Unit (BU) of Alcoa. Based in Richmond, VA, this Alcoa BU was comprised of seven (7)  domestic manufacturing operations and two offshore facilities in Spain and Malaysia.

Prior to D&W Fine Pack, Jeff was VP and Chief Human Resources Officer of Portola Packaging Inc., a privately held but publicly funded manufacturer of closures, bottles and packaging equipment serving markets throughout the world and with operations located in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and China. While at Portola, Jeff redefined the company’s approach to HR and brought a more strategic focus on HR supporting the continuous improvement of manufacturing and leveraging HR as a business advantage.
